On 25 February 2011, LPTP handed-over two out three DEWATS Plants in Solo City to the community after 10 months construction since April 2010. Solo city has been working with LPTP – BORDA for the last five years involving some government agencies such as Public Work, City Planning, Public Health.
The community choose SSS (Simplified Sewerage System) DEWATS method in this location where the plant was connected by piping system to the domestic (housing) waste water outlets. By using this method giving more flexibility in the future new piping installation as well as given full toilet privacy in each houses. Kampung Kadipiro DEWATS plant could treat 35 cubic meter waste water per day while Kampung Pajang ould treat 15 cubic meter waste water per day.
Commissioning of the DEWATS plant is more than handing over the DEWATS construction, but it is more in making sure that the system is functioning by checking all the tecnical aspects, forming the CBO (Community Base Organization) team and the financial issues. It is done as part of the sustainability process of the system.
The commissioning was attended by LPTP representative as the DEWATS implementer, CBO members, local government bodies.
