Located at the Bandengan Municipality, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, a Dewats CBS was officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Pekalongan on 17 March 2010. Attended to the event Mayor of Pekalongan Basyir Ahmad, Chief of DPUPT as the program leader, Chief of North Pekalongan Sub District, Chief of Bandengan Municipality and Aji Suryo representing LPTP as well as the community members. "By having this Dewats CBS, Bandengan Municipality shown me a positive movement and this site was noted on the President of Republic Indonesia of his 100 days on his assignment in regard to the sanitation improvement of the National MDG 2014 with public campaign of "FREE INDONESIA from OPEN DEFECATION".

We don't do old fashion way of building things
Old era, where the top-bottom policy are made to build public infra structure leaving a lot of abandon facilities. But now days, the approach is reversing, bottom-up apporach is the eficient way to ensure that public needs are used and sustain until some period of times.

A Long Way for Better Sanitation in Indonesia
If you don't have access to your basic needs, it mean that you are poor. Sanitation is a basic need to all of human being, or perhaps it is also now apply to some breed animals like chicken, cows, pigs, what about the zoo? Increasing the numbers of urban area automatically increasing of social problem in the society, reducing quality of live because of low income, high density, no proper waste treatment plan, open defecation are the problem to the city and this is everyone concerns.

The project cost at IDR 358.800.000 serves 200 household and 15M3/Day
In most of the urban area especially in Asia, open defecation is still the common practise. When we did Feasibility Study in 2007 at the Sokanandi Village,Banjarnegara District, Central Java, when this area was chosen for the dewats intervention we noted that more than 30% of the households has no access to proper toilet.

We ensure the system sustain for more than 30 years to come
OM (Operational & Maintenance) training to the Dewats Operator is compulsory as part of the Dewats Package Service in order to sustain the dewats plants in 20-30 years to come. What are the Dewats operator “must-do” daily, weekly, monthly or in some critical period to check the entire system to make sure that the dewats system is working properly, so at the end the effluent will secure to be charged to water body.
