WASPOLA is a five-year program of learning, policy formulation and implementation. The initial focus of attention is community-managed water supply and environmental sanitation in small- and medium-scale settlements. WASPOLA applies a partnership approach to policy development, led by the Government of Indonesia, and drawing on assistance from AusAID and the World Bank, through the Water and Sanitation Program for East Asia and the Pacific (WSP-EAP).

This working group is based on the idea that drinking water and environmental sanitation is related to many aspects such as technical, institutional, financing, social and environmental. The members of this group are from Ministry of States Affair, Health Department, Department of Housing, Settlements and Infrastructure, and Coordinated by The National Planning Body.
