Road Show for Sanimas 2009
Program (Community Based Sanitation Program) conducted on August 20 – 21st,
2008 in three cities/regencies of Banten Province. The road show was
lead by Public Work Department and assisted by BEST (Integrated Economic and
Social Development Institute).

Accounting Meeting in Malaysia

From the 13th to 14th of October, 2008, BORDA held an accounting meeting in Malaysia, for accountants from BORDA’s partner offices in Southeast Asia (SEA).
Mrs Gaby, BORDA’s Head of Finance & Accountancy from Germany, and a total of 14 representatives from partner organisations and BORDA offices in China, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines and Vietnam all participated.

   IMH DEWATS TREATMENT PLANT CONSTRUCTION activities for TWO MONTHS

    Before the month of September ends, the construction at Iloilo Mission Hospital (IMH)for their DEWATS treatment plant have done the fabrication of the beam rebars for the Anaerobic baffled Reactor which the number of rebars was 13 pieces and may increased for the following week until the project will done and the cutting of the 8 mm RSB for stirrups. At the second week of September, they have already done the excavation of the Planted Gravel Filter area because the excavated earth must be stockpiled on laundry drying area which the measurement of this was a half of the Anaerobic Baffled Reactor area. The excavations have reached the volume of excavated earth of 31 cu.m.


C-BETech participated in domestic wastewater treatment education and training

The problem that occurs due to lack of wastewater management remained
as a major problem for government; therefore it needs participation
from community and private sector. It requires real effort, same vision
and mission among stakeholders within a more technical aspect. As an
initial step, Central Public Work Agency held a short education and
training for domestic wastewater management for cities and regencies in
Central Java and Special Province of Yogyakarta. C-BETech acted as
private sector which was appointed as a committee who appraised
participant of short education after viewing the condition on the field
based on theory application of domestic wastewater management.

DEWATS Monitoring Campaign in Central Java

The R&D-Department of BORDA Indonesia has completed the preparation phase of its monitoring-campaign and started with the measurements in the field
Last year, in September 2007, the preparation phase of a new monitoring campaign for DEWATS was launched in Yogyakarta under the scientific supervision of Prof. CA Buckley from the University of KwaZulu-Natal / South Africa.
Since then, and until the beginning of this year the staff of BORDA Indonesia R&D (Research and Development)-Department has been trained to master the required laboratory research and sample taking techniques.
